Love and Pride tells the struggle between Elizabeth Bennett, the daughter of a provincial gentleman, and Fitzwilliam Darcy, the wealthy and noble landowner. Jane Austen offers these two characters the same as those who fall into each other's struggles, but it is imperative in reversing the "first impression": "prejudice" that elizabeth's family favors against "noble" with "pride" arising from nobility and wealth . In Elizabeth's behavior, both "pride" evoked by self-interest and "prejudice" against Darcy's cynicism are effective. The clever and enthusiastic Elizabeth is not only Austen's favorite female hero, but also one of the most interesting female novelists of all English literature.
