Taming of the Shrew is one of Shakespeare's early comedies that has not provided much mirth for many women who find the portrayal of its leading lady being tamed, belittling and offensive. However, it is nonetheless a popular play set in Verona where Petruchio marries Katherina who is subdued into being an obedient wife. This narrative version was written by Mary & Charles Lamb.
